About Us:
Founded by Bill Godhard and Matt Alden, the well-respected Cleveland trainers and amateur coaches, teach boxing to children 10 and over and adults. We have a strong amateur team and train several pros. Join our gym to stay in shape or box competitively - you decide.
For those of you who are not familiar with our organization, the West Side Boxing Club is a nonprofit 501C tax-exempt club that teaches boxing to underprivileged teens and young adults to become winners in the sport as well as in life. This is done through physical training, boxing instruction and cultural enrichment.
Mentoring is an essential component of the West Side Boxing Club’s overall mission through daily interaction with coaches and trainers. Issues such as self-esteem, violence prevention, and individual responsibility are addressed. The West Side Boxing Club’s ultimate goal is to create champions, not only in the boxing ring, but also in our society!
Boxing can be beneficial for both the mind and the body. It builds physical and mental endurance, and reduces stress. The West Side Boxing Club helps young men and women develop these skills while providing the necessary guidance to make them empowered, productive and confident members of the community.
